If you’re over 16 and want to get your L-Plates the TAFE can help through its Learner Driver Program.
Driver Education teacher Niki Shepherd says TAFE's motorists program has already provided many with success in obtaining L plates.
“This program is to assist anyone who may need some help in getting through the NSW Roads and Maritime Services’ learner driver’s knowledge test,” Ms Shepherd said.
“It has been assisting people with low-level literacy and numeracy skills and new migrants, but it is really for anyone who may need some help – who may be daunted by sitting the test.”
Ms Shepherd said she has been employed as a resource to help people understand, comprehend and complete the written Driver Knowledge Test.
“There is a booklet with all the rules, but it is a lot of information to take in, so we just break down the most important components and apply it to the online practice tests,” she said.
“Undertaking the driver education program has also helped improve people’s reading, writing and computer literacy skills.”
The Roads and Maritime Service Learner Driver Program starts this Thursday, March 2 at TAFE Goulburn. It runs on Thursdays and Fridays from 9.30am to 12.30pm and if fee exempt. Call 131601 to secure your place.
