Club vice president Fay Peden and club secretary Pamela Haynes presented student Jessica Lee Stanton with a cheque for her school.
Every year, CWA studies a different country. In 2016, it was Mongolia.
Mongolia is landlocked between China to the south and Russia to the north. It is the 18th-largest country in the world by land mass, mostly ‘steppe’, characterised by grassland plains with few trees.
Ulaanbaatar, its capital, is home to nearly half its population; a third of its people are nomadic; and the majority are Buddhists.
Goulburn CWA invited Crescent School students to research and present a poster project about Mongolia.
Jessica Lee entered the poster competition and won.
For her great effort she was given a cheque from the CWA Day Branch with which to purchase something for the school.
Goulburn CWA is proud to be associated with The Crescent School.
CWA Day Branch meets the first Wednesday of every month at 10.30am (next: May 3). Craft Day is Friday morning. New members are always welcome.
