Carr Confoy lights upgraded

Following a council resolution in February, a large scale upgrade of the lighting at the Carr Confoy sporting fields was completed last week.

The resolution came after a report stated that the existing lighting, installed in 1988, was starting to fail.

Thirty lights were determined to be at the end of their service life, requiring immediate replacement.

As a council, we moved to reallocate $120,000 from other capital expenditure items to urgently replace the lighting.

These fields are the most-used within Goulburn, and the lighting upgrade is timely as we come into the peak of the winter sports season!

Monitoring Waste

A reminder that we do monitor contamination in recycling and organic waste bins.

Any bins found to be contaminated will have a sticker placed on them and will not be emptied.

Plastic bags are not permitted in the recycling or organic waste bins, and cardboard boxes should be empty before being placed in recycling.

DO THE RIGHT THING: If your recycling or green waste bins have inappropriate material inside, they will not be emptied. Photo: Gabriele Charotte.

Thanking local volunteers

Last week, as part of National Volunteer Week 2017, local council volunteers were recognised with a morning tea on Tuesday at the Riversdale Historic Homestead.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council has a large, enthusiastic group of volunteers, who work tirelessly to ensure a number of facilities, programs and events are able to run smoothly.

Present on the day were volunteers from the St Clair Museum, Rocky Hill Museum, Waterworks Museum, We Love Goulburn and the McDermott Centre.

Volunteering is a choice that all of these people make; they give up their time and work extremely hard to put back into our community.

Without them we would not have the fantastic museums and events that we do have in Goulburn Mulwaree.

If you are interested in becoming involved in a community organisation, please contact the council on 4823 4448.
