The Voluntary Planning Agreement to establish 112 residential blocks and a few reserves surrounding the former St Joseph’s House of Prayer looks great.

The inclusion of community facilities such as walkways and parks will benefit the community, not only of the housing development but of wider Bradfordville.
It is great to see this creative use of the land around the former orphanage, especially since they allow access to the Wollindilly River near the old boat shed.
This area, once known as the Kenmore Pleasure Grounds, will once again be accessible by the community.
One can see linkages from this development to a possible extension of the Wollondilly Walking Trail to open up that area of the river to the public. The river is particularly wide here and provides good fishing and potential for boating and other recreation. Maybe the Kenmore Pleasure Grounds will once again be a reality.
The art of anti-bullying
Bullying is not an unexpected phenomenon.
It is safe to say that everyone, at one point in their lives, has been a victim, bully or witness. This act of segregation through verbal or non-verbal assault is an experience that stretches far beyond high school hallways.
An anti-bullying policy announced by Goulburn High School was a breeding ground for online comments which criticised the ability of the school to eradicate such anti-social behaviour.
These comments, targeted or otherwise, must be taken with a grain of salt. These are people who are on the attack and are not afraid to bring the reputation of the school down.
“It boils down to respecting each other,” principal Paul Hogan said in response to bullying.
But what about if someone thinks another person is not worth respecting? Misconception is a powerful thing.
For high school, a turbulent yet exhilarating time, it is not the bullying itself that is the problem, but more so that the victims do not feel supported.
If there is support but it has not been accepted as effective, one could argue that the support needs a shake up.
In the angry mob a clear voice rings out. Bullying as an attack is not unusual, feeling like the only soldier on the battle ground is.
