In the second grade game, Goulburn managed to breech the ADFA line on a couple of occasions, but their efforts were not strong enough to overcome the 20-point inroad made by the visiting military contingent. With players backing up from the second grade 20 to 12 loss, it was always going to be a big ask for the Dirty Reds to bulldoze their way through the super-fit ADFA first grade big guns.
The visitors pushed back any Goulburn advances and in the mauls, rucks and scrums the Dirty Reds found themselves pushed backward and possession stolen. In at least one set manoeuvre the force rolled the maul over the line like a centurion tank. Firsts score: 20 to nil.
