A Goulburn man will face court next month, on speeding and drink-driving charges, after being detected travelling at more than 20km/h over the sign-posted speed limit in a local school zone.

About 8.45am today, Goulburn Highway Patrol were conducting speed enforcement in a school zone on Reynolds Street.
A silver Holden Barina was detected travelling at 64km/h within the school zone.
The car was stopped in another school zone Union Street and the male driver, and sole occupant of the car, was spoken to.
A roadside breath test returned a positive result and the 63–year-old Goulburn man was arrested.A
A subsequent breath analysis at Goulburn Police Station returned an alleged reading of 0.091.
He was charged mid range PCA, driving while suspended and exceeding the speed limit in a school zone.
Southern Region Traffic Tactician Chief Inspector Greg Lynch said police would continue to provide visibility around school zones to ensure the safety of some of the state’s most vulnerable road users – children.
“Poor road user behaviour, especially in school zones, won’t be tolerated.
"School zones are there for a reason, with flashing signage, to keep our children safe." Chief Inspector Lynch said.
The man was granted conditional bail and will appear in Goulburn Local Court on 30 August 2017.
