The event, which is conducted over a marked natural terrain course without specially built jumps or prepared hard surfaces, draws hundreds of riders and supporters to the venue.
On Saturday, August 19, racing is for juniors and parents, while Sunday, August 20 is the adults’ turn.
Spectators are welcome to attend, with sign-on at 7am and racing starting at 9am each day.
The Lake Narambulla track is accessed via Rampton Road off the Hume Highway and the way into the site is signposted.
The Goulburn Motorcycle Club will also be fundraising for Ivy Exantus, a young local girl who has been diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia. This means she has no functioning bone marrow and does not have the white blood cell levels to fight off infection. She requires frequent blood transfusions and needs a bone marrow transplant as soon as possible. Look out for the collection tins. Any donation is appreciated.
The club is expecting more than 400 riders to participate over the two days, with about 220 participants on Saturday and slightly fewer on Sunday.
As this is a working farm, facilities are portable. There will be a canteen organised by the local Rural Fire Service. Visitors to the property are asked not to drop rubbish and to leave the site as clean as when they arrived. When driving, proceed with caution and avoid raising too much dust; watch for animals, pedestrians and other vehicles.
There should be several vantage points from which spectators can get good views of the action on the track, and keen photographers some spectacular action photographs. Once the competition is completed, the land on which the racing is held will be ploughed and returned to pasture.
Goulburn Motorcycle Club will also be hosting the sixth and final round of the NSW Amcross series on September 16 and 17, this time at the Herfoss farm at Gretta Road, a short distance from Goulburn along the Braidwood Road and overlooking the Goulburn Airport.
Goulburn Motorcycle Club thanks everyone who has helped organise this weekend’s event and the local businesses who have got behind the club. They especially encourage members of the community to come out on Saturday, Sunday or both days, even for a short time, to support the local riders and and enjoy a great day of dirt bike racing by the gorgeous Lake Narambulla, owned by the Divall family, who have generously donated the use of their property for this event.
