There’s an art to aging. With age comes experience. You know more people, have seen more events, travelled more and in turn, have a better understanding of your identity.

In this town there are many that have embraced this art. The art of letting go and doing what you want. There is an emancipation in white hair and sagging skin younger people are hesitant to embrace.
One man however has. Spotted, on a picturesque Monday afternoon near Victoria park, was an elderly man jogging in black speedos. This man was not alone, there were many walking, jogging and using the outdoor equipment in the vicinity. Many looked at this man in shock, some even laughed, but he did not break his stride. His eye line never diverted.
You cannot outsource confidence. When you age, you find that there is no need to. Life is about embracing what makes you happy, with or without black speedos.
Bring on the quiet shopping periods please
We are sure it is not just ‘oldies' who will flock to the supermarkets to enjoy the ‘quiet shopping’ times soon to be introduced soon by Coles.
The supermarket chain has just announced the initiative, which will see it dimming the lights, switching off the radio and reducing volumes on their registers and scanners for one hour a week.
Trolleys and roll cages will also not be moved throughout the hour and announcements will only be made in emergencies.
It is scheduled to be rolled-out in 68 stores across the country soon – but only for one hour at a time.
Please bring this quiet shopping time to all Goulburn stores! And while they are at it – Why only for one hour? Why not whole shopping days?
It is hard enough trying to remember the items one needs when shopping, only to have every sense assaulted by the loud music and the continuous announcements such as: “this machine only accepts a card, do you wish to proceed?” Or “unexpected item in the bagging area” or “do you wish to print a receipt?”
