On arrival, crews identified a truck had pulled down a service wire connecting the electricity network to a residential premises.
The service wire, which had de-energised when it fell, affected power supplies to a single customer.
Crews secured the safety of the site, including removing the service wire from the house. Supply will remain isolated until the premise installation is repaired and inspected to ensure was safe to restore power.
Acting Regional Manager Southern, Mark Summers, reminded the public to stay at least eight metres away from damaged or fallen powerlines.
“Always treat powerlines as live and remember that anything in contact with them, such as cars, trees or fences, can conduct electricity and pose a danger,” Mark said.
"We encourage residents to immediately report any fallen powerlines, network damage, fires or trees contacting powerlines to Essential Energy on 13 20 80.”
