Two men were found by police hiding near a tree following a police pursuit on the highway yesterday.

The Hume Police District Highway patrol performed stationary speed enforcements on the Federal Highway in Wollogorang, on Friday, 16 February, at about 10.30am when they found a speeding silver Subaru travelling at 140 km p/h northbound.
Police say officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated away and a pursuit was initiated, then terminated due to manner of driving.
A short time later, police attended a nearby location and found the driver and passenger hiding in a tree line adjacent to the Hume Highway.
Both were arrested without further incident.
The 26-year-old male driver from Mongarlowe and 57-year-old male passenger from Queanbeyan were sent to Goulburn Police Station.

The 26-year-old driver was charged with Skyes Law (Police Pursuit), Exceed Speed (Over 45km/h), Unlicensed Driving, Using an Unregistered and Uninsured Vehicle and using unauthorised registration plates.
He also tested positive to prohibited drugs in an Oral Fluid test.
He was given conditional bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court on 7 March 2018.
The 57-year-old passenger was charged with possess prohibited drug and given conditional bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court on 7 March 2018.
