Her watercolour painting depicts the sprawling labor of love under the watchful eye of Rocky Hill – a place to share, filled with hues of green.
This piece of art was donated to the Goulburn Wetlands as part of a recent raffle to save money for the tireless and dedicated group of volunteers.
Member Rai Shiel said donations went “very well” with members, businesses and nearby residents all chipping in for the a good cause.
The money will go towards adding a commemorative art piece to signal the group’s growth over the past few years.
“The FROGS landcare group will look at the final amount and decide how to enhance the wetlands. Maybe it will be a sculpture – but it will be part of our long term vision,” he said.
“It has got to be permanent and keep with the spirit of the landscape.”
The first prize, the watercolour painting, was mailed to K & S Lancaster of Winston Hills.
The second prize, a print of the painting was won by Ian Emerson of Goulburn.
“There is a link to the volunteers and the indigenous who frequent the area prior European settlement. A lot has gone into this place,” he said.
Those interested in purchasing a print of the painting can contact the Goulburn Wetlands.
