The two new French classes have taken off like the proverbial rocket. The new gentle exercise class, Heart Moves, and new gentle walk – the Monday River Walk 4 Health – are proving to be popular.
The first Let's Do Lunch for the year was yesterday at the Goulburn Chinese Restaurant to welcome in the Lunar New Year of the Dog and the first Let's Explore trip will be next week.
Last Saturday, members of the Armchair Travel Group were treated to a wonderful talk by U3A member Tom Lyttle on his recent trip to Russia, illustrated with a photo slide presentation.
Most were surprised to learn that, in the main, Russia is a well-maintained, modern country with some of the greatest museums and art galleries in the world, and overall compares favourably with other European countries. Local travel agents might get a sudden rush of bookings to Russia after Tom's great talk!
A representative from U3A was guest speaker at the Men's Probus Club last week and was well received.
Members are busy getting ready for their big 10th anniversary celebration lunch at the Workers Club on Wednesday, February 28 and also their U3A information stall at the Goulburn Show. Don't forget to stop by and say g'day when you are at the Show.
