AP&H president, Stewart Keith, thanked the volunteers, exhibitors and sponsors of the 132nd annual show before he introduced Dave Bannow.

The show was officially opened on Saturday by Dave who congratulated the committee, sponsors and many volunteers on their great effort.
It was wonderful, he said, to see the younger members taking up the reins.
The CWA ladies were thanked for providing a delicious lunch for the president and his guests. Life memberships for years of dedicated work in the Art and Craft, Photography, Sheep and Cattle and Pavilion Sections were presented to Don Taylor, Kerry Taylor, Brian Moloney and Peter McAlister.
The Dog High Jump created a lot of excitement. The small dog class was won by Terry Bennett’s Lucy. Next was Callum Corby’s Bear, Lara Miller’s Bronco and Marilyn Mooney’ Ginger. First in the Large Dog’s Class was Adrian. Keith’s Quinn then John Corby’s Jack, Steve Balfour’s Rebel, Michael Jeffree’s Rusty and Tom Hand’s Dodge.
The Most Successful Exhibitor in the Meat Sheep was Mount Pleasant who had Champion and Reserve Champion Border Leceister Ram and Reserve Champion Ewe. The Champion Ewe went to Cuddyong. Hillden won the Poll Dorset Ram and Champion Poll Dorset Ewe, Mount Bathurst the Reserve Champion Ram. The Supreme Champion Ram and Supreme Champion Ewe was won by Hillden.
CWA President, Alison Cummins presented Maggie Cramp, Binda, with the CWA Trophy for the Highest Point Score over the Show.
The gigantic AP&H raffle was won by R Meredith, 2nd J Moloney, 3rd J Elliott, 4th R Churchhill, 5th E Croker, 6th S Cosgrove.
Kevin Partridge was pleased with the 46 entries to the Home Brew Competition with all classes hotly contested. The winner of the Fred Denman Award for Champion Wine was Jan Green for a masterly damson wine – Fred’s original recipe. He would have been proud of this wine. The wine also won the Grand Champion for the best overall beverage.
The champion beer was awarded to Bob McCluskey for a wonderful black ale. Other winners were Justin Moloney who took out a first for cider, Ian Newham for his lager and in the newly introduced category of Mead, Mic Lumley’s entry was unbeatable.

BOOKS COME TO TOWN
The Library Bus is sponsored by Upper Lachlan Shire Council and comes from Goulburn every three weeks. Do take advantage of this great service which is being trialled until the end of June. The bus is parked every three weeks at Goodhew Park between 3-4pm. The next visit from the Library will be on Friday, March 23. Do support this service or we will lose it!
