Superintendent Benson, who has been in Goulburn for two and half years, has earned promotion to the State Protection Group in Sydney, where he will take up the rank of Chief Superintendent. He will enjoy a week's leave before taking up the post.
Supt Benson's time in Goulburn, his first command position of a LAC, has had a strong focus on curbing anti-social behaviour. He implemented changes upon his arrival in the command, appointing a duty officer to the Yass Police Station, and ensuring that his officers maintain a high-profile police presence on weekends as part of Operation Vikings.
"We've worked hard to ensure we meet our goals, in terms of making the community feel safe and meeting the demands of modern policing," he said.
