IF there had to be two words to describe the kindergarten class of Goulburn Public School this year, they would be ‘highly ambitious’.

Dressed neatly in their freshly ironed uniforms the 22 children stood proudly waiting for their first school photo to be taken. They spent the morning coloring in, looking at pictures and answering questions.
The tricky question came when they were asked by The Post “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
A little hand rose as the shy voice of Sidney Elder said “a treeman, the man who cuts down the big trees”.
These children prove that anything can be possible after a few of the boys said they want to be “fireengines” when they grow up. Ella Channell had the right idea when she said, “I want to be the queen” with a big smile on her face. Lilly Hardcastle wants to be a princess.
There are already plans for the next kids master chef with Tammy-Grace Smith who said she wants to cook when she gets older. Muhammand Siddiqi said he’s going to be the next Superman, after which Marcus Caldow said he was going to be Batman. Lucky there was Adam Keenan, who wants to be a police officer, to keep the superheroes under control.
The most meaningful aspiration of all came from Madison Waititi who said the only thing she wants in life is “to make friends like my big brother does”. The children lined up perfectly in two straight lines getting ready for their first big walk around the playground with Mrs Robertson and Ms Beauman. While Goulburn Public School welcomed its newest batch yesterday, most of the town’s Kindy kids will actually start school day.
