As part of the event, the race club has teamed up with Hume Local Area Command to ensure the event runs without a hitch.
“It’s our biggest event,” the Racing Club’s Robyn Fife told the Post.
“We want everyone to make sure they enjoy their day.”
Detective Inspector Chad Gillies was on hand at the club recently to inform punters what presence they can expect.
“Our message would be to the people who are coming, enjoy yourself, be safe and have a plan of how to get home because you don’t want to drink and drive,” he said.
“We’ll be targeting intoxicated behaviour not only here but also in town."
Det. Insp. Gillies said that while those under 18 are allowed to attend the annual event, if caught consuming, or having consumed, alcohol they will be caught and fined.
“And also a warning to any underage people thinking about trying to get into the event - on the day think about what you’re doing, it’s an offence and a fine.
“At the end of the day we want the venue to go off without a hitch, people to enjoy the facilities, enjoy the company of their friends and are hopefully not interfered by people here who are here just to drink. It’s about having a good time and drinking responsibly.”
The all-age race day festivities kick off with the first race at 11am on Sat Nov 8.
