The action commences at 5pm when the Under 6 and Under 8 competitions play their final round.
Although the Mini-Touch player’s do not participate in finals, the final three rounds of the competition have seen teams on a similar win/loss ratio paired up together. This final round will see Lock-Co Plastering (Rank 1) take on Raine and Hornets A (Rank 2) in what should be an epic final match.
At 6pm, the first round of Grand Finals gets underway with the Under 10 Boys, Under 10/12 Girls and Under 12 Boys deciders.
Despite going undefeated during the regular season, Under 10 Boys team Allstars narrowly lost 6-4 to second place Smashers in the Major Semi Final two weeks ago, forcing Allstars to battle it out in an Elimination Final against The Rockstars. A convincing 16-1 victory last week has setup a final showdown with rivals Smashers in which both teams will be hungry for victory.
Under 10’s Division 2 will see SSPP take on Cool Bro’s who up until two weeks ago had not recorded a victory all season. They have managed to pull themselves together for the finals and should push SSPP all the way.
In the Under 10/12 Girls, The Devils have been deadly all year, going undefeated all the way through to the Grand Final. However, their opponents this week, Wollondilly Stars, have been growing in confidence all year and will throw everything they have at their more fancied opponents.
The Under 12’s Boys Grand Final could be a very interesting match. Despite their dominance all season, Untouchables won their Major Semi Final against this week’s opponents, Blues, only five touchdowns to two, their smallest victory this season. If Blues can get it right on the night, an upset could very well be in the cards.
The final round of games taps-off at 7pm, with the Under 14 Boys, Under 14 Girls, Under 16 Girls and Under 14/16 Girls Division 2 Grand finals.
With only two teams in the 14 Boys competition this season, they were forced to play the year with the 12 Boys. However, for the finals, they were rewarded with their own three match “State-of-Origin” like series.
The first of these, played two weeks ago, was a comprehensive 9-2 victory to the Doggies over Untouchables. Needing a win or draw to keep the series alive, Untouchables bounced back to finish level with Doggies at 5-5 in Game two. Should Untouchables win Game three, the series will go into a “Drop Off” to decide the winning team.
The Under 14 Girls Grand Final between Cereal Touchers and Destructive Dolls should be a classic game! In their two previous encounters (both won by Cereal Touchers) only two touchdowns and one touchdown separated the two teams.
Both teams are staunch defenders, and this match should come down to whoever can hold their line the best.
Blazing Angels and Spice Girls will do battle in the Under 16 Girls decider.
Racking up 100 touchdowns in 13 matches, Blazing Angels will be hard to beat in this one. However, their only “non-win” of the season came in Round three, at the hands of this week’s opponents, when the game finished in a 3-3 draw. Anything could happen!
Finally, in the Under 14/16 Girls Division 2 Grand Final, Rainbow Gladiators will face Mulwaree Magic. With both teams missing out on the Division 1 finals for the 14 Girls, they will now have a chance at redemption on Tuesday.
