An officer from the Early Childhood Education and Care Directorate of the Department of Education and Communities visited the centre over two days in March.
Centre director Sarah Harris said the officer observed staff working with children, discussing best practice, and checking records, programs, policies and procedures.
"Everyone was understandably a little nervous" Ms Harris said.
"The national assessment process began nearly four years ago and many Goulburn centres had already had their visits, so we had been waiting in anticipation for a while.
"The visit is really about the assessor seeing normal, everyday practice, so we reassured ourselves that nothing had to be different, that it was business as usual.
"The result has been very encouraging. We usually have lots of positive feedback from the families whose children attend Lady McKell, which is fantastic.
"But the affirmation from our regulatory authority really helped to confirm we are providing a great service to the Goulburn community and, most importantly, children."
