The session from 5pm-8:30pm at the Council Chambers includes presentations at 5.15 and 7.30pm. Park walkthroughs will also be occurring on Saturday at 11am and 2:30pm, leaving from the Aquatic Centre carpark.
The meetings will give residents the opportunity to review and comment on the draft plans for the redevelopment of the Goulburn Aquatic Centre, and to have input into the master planning of Victoria Park. The park is the home of the Aquatic Centre and a range of other sporting and recreation activities in Goulburn.
The Aquatic Centre redevelopment plan proposes some exciting changes to the venue that will allow it to better meet the needs of Goulburn and visitors, the council says. These will include new and additional indoor program and lap pools, a new fitness gym, new foyer, café and change room facilities.
Extensive redevelopment of outdoor areas will include a refurbished 50m pool, a water-play splash park for children and enhanced links with Victoria Park and the adjoining skate park.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council has commissioned the masterplan for Victoria Park to guide the future redevelopment of this important community asset, to identify how it can be improved and to assess new or additional uses for the park.
Undertaking the two planning exercises together will ensure the best result for both the park and the Aquatic Centre.
Residents and groups who would like to have a say on the masterplan, meet the planning team, or discuss ideas for the future of the Aquatic Centre or Victoria Park are encouraged to attend the meetings.
