The beauty of this show, is that the quaint town of Braidwood is halfway between Canberra and the South Coast, so it’s makes for a favourite day out for locals, as well as a comfortable trip for visitors. The showground is a few minutes north of the town and easy to find.
A special feature of a country show are the animals events. Braidwood has horse, cattle, sheep, poultry, dog events plus there will be an animal patting pen, always a big favourite with the little ones.
For many the pavillion is where all the action is and this year once again there will be produce, art work and handicrafts being judged and displayed. This is where Braidwood exhibitors show their specialist skills.
There will be trade displays, parades, sideshow alley and old fashioned, family races, for all ages.
High jump dog races, farmers challenge and an Instragram competition are new events and all offer prize money to the winners. For the complete experience, consider entering a contest on the day or if you are proud of your special skills or handiwork, then enter it into one of the competitions and you could go home with more than you came with.
