Jim Nichols is the new president of the Rotary Club of Goulburn when the club held its 87th Changeover Dinner at the Blue Plate Restaurant on June 21.

Jim has been a member of the Rotary Club of Goulburn for 22 years and was president in 1996-1997.
Official guests included the District 9710 District Governor’s representative Peter Ford, Mayor Bob Kirk and the newly inducted president of other local Rotary Clubs – Bill Brodie of the Rotary Club of Goulburn Mulwaree, Michael Pearson of the Rotary Club of Goulburn Argyle and Brian Hudson of the Rotary Club of Crookwell.
Club president Cr Carol James reported on the club’s activities through the 2016 -17 year touching on the increase in membership, community projects and fundraising. “Members were thanked for their participation in our various projects and the achievement of nearly 1300 hours of community service raising $19,000 of funds for the benefit of the local and overseas communities,” a spokesperson said.
During his induction, new president Jim Nichols was presented with the President’s collar, badge, podium theme banner and the Club Charter dating back to May 2, 1930. He was accompanied by the District Governor’s representative Peter Ford. He said he intended to follow this year’s Rotary International President’s theme - Rotary: Making A Difference.
Keva Abotomey from the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium provided entertainment on the night.
