A man has been caught speeding by the Highway Patrol twice in one day.

At about 12.56pm on Sunday, officers attached to the Highway Patrol detected a 23-year-old man travelling 185km/h northbound on the Federal Highway near Collector.
The P1 driver was issued an infringement notice and a six-month suspension immediately. The driver was collected by a friend and the vehicle was not confiscated.
About one hour later, another officer attached to the Goulburn Highway Patrol spotted the same vehicle travelling northbound on the Hume Highway near Goulburn.
The vehicle was driven by the same driver suspended near Collector earlier that very day.
The driver was arrested and charged at the Goulburn Police Station.
He was given conditional bail to attend to Goulburn Local Court in November.
Speedster caught
Another driver has been caught travelling nearly double the speed limit on the Hume Highway.
A 26-year-old man with an international driver’s licence was stopped by police after he was detected travelling 215km/h southbound on the Hume Highway near Goulburn at 12.55am on Monday.
The vehicle was a Victorian registered Holden Cruze sedan.
The driver was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for dangerous speeds and exceeding the speed limit.
The driver’s licence was immediately suspended and he is due to appear in Local Court on November 15.
