"Protection of victims is paramount" says NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller

Sexual assault and indecent assault remain the two most recorded crimes in the Goulburn Mulwaree region over the past year according to Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) released yesterday.

Malicious damage to property (283), fraud (156) and non-domestic violence related assault (128) were the three highest major offences for the region.

NSW Police welcomed the quarterly statistics boasting a decrease in break and enter, stealing from property and people, malicious damage and assault incidents across the state.

Possession of cocaine (41.2 per cent) in Sydney’s inner west and eastern suburbs was the most significant upwards trend for NSW.

“For a long time, modern law enforcement has focused just on victims of domestic violence, which is entirely appropriate, but the perpetrators are the ones who need to be held to account,” NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller said.

“Protection of victims is paramount and, I will continue working towards reducing domestic violence offences in NSW.”
