Goulburn Railway Bowling Clubs four day bowling carnival, the annual Rose Bowls was called off on Sunday morning because of rain. The men had two perfect days for their bowls however the women only got in their first day of competition before the rain.
Sunday morning at 10am the women held their presentations based on the first day of play. Winning on Saturday were the ladies from Cowra/Blaney Lead, Judy Adams, from Blaney, Heather Hoad from Cowra and skip Nada Kurta from Cowra. Second were Joy Scott, Ali Hof and Kerrie Burns from Merimbula Bowling Club. A representative from major sponsor Gullen Range Windfarms, this time Simon Zhao made the presentations.
Railway Women’s president Denise Gosling thanked all the women who participated in the bowls and invited them back for the 2019 Rose Bowls and hopefully two fine days for the competition.
