A man has appeared in court on Sunday charged over an alleged break-in and lighting of a fire at a home in Tallong.

Police said that at about 12.45am Saturday, a man armed with a knife allegedly forced entry to a home on Caoura Road, Tallong, about 40kms east of Goulburn, and threatened the occupant, a 48-year-old woman.
They will allege the man lit a fire in the kitchen before damaging her vehicle parked in the driveway.
He went to the garage in the backyard and lit another fire before, re-entering the home, armed with a metal bar, and approached the woman.
Officers from The Hume Police District were notified and attended a short time later.
The garage was destroyed as a result of the fire. The woman was not physically injured.
A 35-year-old man was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station.
He was charged with aggravated break and enter, malicious damage by fire and malicious damage.
The man was refused bail and appeared in Goulburn Local Court on Sunday. He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused. The case was adjourned until Monday, July 2.
Police said the man and woman were not known to each other.
