Country music is coming to Mona Farm on August 3, 4 and 5 with Country Rocks Under the Stars.
The event describes itself as “Australia’s newest and most exciting music festival.”
Country Rocks have already had stage shows at various venues but Mona Farm will be host to the very first Under the Stars event.
The headline performers are Australian artists James Blundell and Tania Kernaghan, plus you can see Golden Guitar winner Christie Lamb, winners of Toyota Star Makers Rachael Fahim and Brad Cox, Country Rock’s own Ben Ransom, local favourites Brewn as well as many others.
Up and coming artists will also get their chance to shine when they are featured on the dedicated Spotlight Stages.
If you buy tickets to more than one day then you can also camp on site (note that free camping is limited).
All three days of Country Rocks Under the Stars will be a proper festival experience.
In addition to music you can enjoy craft beers, gourmet food trucks, unique local market stalls and children’s rides, acoustic fireside performances and full bar facilities, all in Mona Farm’s beautiful surroundings.
ABOUT MONA FARM
Mona Farm and Historic Home is an integral part of Braidwood’s history.
The 124 acres of land on which Mona sits was part of the 4600 acres granted to former British Navy medical officer Thomas Braidwood Wilson whom the town has been named after.
The property has been described as a work in progress since 1837 and it still features the original homestead, stables and close to 8 acres of gardens.
Those gardens were purposefully designed to re-create the look of the English-style estates that Thomas and his wife Jane were familiar with.
The property started changing hands as early as 1843, and each family of owners further developed the property with new structures like the shearing shed (function centre) and extensions to the homestead.
In February 2018 Mona Farm was purchased by a well-respected Sydney family, and it is now undergoing an extensive restoration.
This includes returning the heritage gardens to their former glory, installing original art works and sculptures by well-known national and international artists, and building on a business strategy that focuses on tourism and the unique features of historic Braidwood.
The country music festival is also merely the first in a schedule of world-class performances they’ve put in place for the 2018/19 season.
