This Thursday is “R U OK? Day”, a day where people ask one another: are you OK?
Schools in the area involved with R U OK? Day include Goulburn High and Mulwaree High.
Goulburn High held an assembly last Thursday to support R U OK? Day as they had a special guest speaker.
“Motivational speaker Jonny Shannon talked about bullying, cyber bullying and resilience,” Goulburn High teacher Deborah Whiley said.
Mr Shannon was also at Mulwaree High and the well-being teacher at the school, Callie Jessep, said it had hosted other activities too.
“We hosted a lunch in the school cafe on September 5 for community service providers in the local area,” she said.
“We will also be dedicating an hour of class time on Thursday to run a lesson for students on the importance of mateship.
“This focuses on how we can listen and supporting others, and what a huge positive impact that these things can have on people.”
This is the 10-year anniversary of the suicide prevention charity.
