Lerida Estate and Collector Wines were both awarded at the National Show of Australia - Royal National Capital Agricultural Society (RNCAS) Canberra and Region Wine Show.
Collector Wines taking out the top prize for best chardonnay; Tiger Tiger Chardonnay, 2016.
“It's modern Australian chardonnay, the vineyard sits at 850m altitude at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains,” said wine maker Alex McKay.
“It is very elegant, restrained, fruit-forward, lightly oaked chardonnay. It was a very large field of wines we were competing against, and it does mean a lot to us to have come out on top.
“This is our first big award for the chardonnay, which we've been making since 2012.”
The grapes used in this particular win were from Tumbarumba, one of the premium chardonnay areas in Australia, that includes Tasmania and Margaret River.
The winery also won a Bronze for their Reserve Shiraz, 2015.
Lerida Estate in Collector was also awarded.
