The Division One grand final featured Goulburn and Illawarra South Coast 1, which went the way of the visitors, 3-4, following a tight contest.
Although they lost the final, the result was a good reward for the Goulburn side who had played a clean brand of hockey throughout the tournament.
They finished at the top of Pool B following the group stages, with three wins and a draw after four games, along with 18 points.
Similarly, Illawarra South Coast 1 had dominated Pool A, also with three wins and a draw.
However, the visitors were more composed under pressure during Sunday’s grand final and managed to maintain a one point lead when the final buzzer rang.
The winner of the Division Two competition was Manning Valley, in a similarly tight grand final against the Southern Highlands, which finished at 3-4.
Manning Valley were the most dominant side in Division Two all weekend, with four wins from their four matches.
Next weekend will see the Under 18’s Boys Indoor State Championships take place from December 7 to December 9.
