Thanks to the Australian Blues Festival, Goulburn has come to be considered by many to be the home of Australian Blues music.
And lovers of this musical genre will not be disappointed when the annual festival kicks off this weekend.
From Friday to Monday, across venues throughout Goulburn, top headline acts will enthrall their audiences with a showcase of superior talent and skills.
This is the 23rd time the festival has been held and is now rated by Tourism Australia as one of the “must see events and festival in regional Australia”.

More than 70, free-entry performances from 29 acts across 10 performance spaces though the city’s CBD are on offer for visitors and lovers of the blues.
There will be a one-off, “Tribute to the Piano Player of the Blues” , featuring three of Australia’s finest performer - Leane Paris, Jan Preston and Leo Joseph. There will also be a “Songwriters in the Round” event with PJ O'Brien, John McNamara and Simon Kinney-Lewis and on Friday and Saturday night the unpredictability of Blues Roulette with Ben Wicks and Cameron Smith.
The Australian Blues Music Festival is supported by Goulburn Mulwaree Council, APRA AMCOS, Tattersalls Hotel, Astor Hotel, Goulburn District Workers Club, Goulburn Railway Bowling Club, Hibernian Hotel, Southern Railway Hotel, The Goulburn Club and Laing Entertainment.
Regular performer, 8 Ball Aitken said the festival was one of the best organised blues festival in Australia. “We have been to quite a few around the country. We particularly enjoyed the tour around Goulburn and were really impressed by the range of historic architecture the city has. It is a great tourist destination with so much to see,” he said.
