The latest figures from Revenue NSW reveal that from July to January, 1506 infringement notices worth a combined total of $217,356 were issued to motorists who over-stayed in parking spots.

Wingecarribee motorists copped the most fines with 886 issued which brought in a hefty $138,146 for council coffers.

This was the equivalent of more than $19,700 every month in fines.

Motorists in the Goulburn Mulwaree Council area have so far copped 620 fines, worth a total of $79,210, during the seven-month period - the equivalent of more than $11,300 a month.

Far more fines have been issued in Goulburn so far this financial year when compared to the 2017/18 financial year when just 94 were issued during the 12 months.

Overall, however, the two locations are on track to exceed the total cost of fines paid during 2017/18.

During that 12-month period, Wingecarribee motorists received 2277 fines (worth $336,313), while 94 infringements were issued in Goulburn (worth $11,584).
