The chickens were hatched at the Children's Education and Child Care Centre in May, 2017.
Centre Director Anna Lamarra said the chickens are now an integral part of the SDN Lady McKell family.
"The children take increasing responsibility for their care and it is embedded as part of program in sustainability practices and showing care and kindness to all things living," she said.
They also have a small black chick, Lulu, who they have recently adopted as it was orphaned.
"We recently reached out to Bunnings Goulburn asking for support in revamping the chicken coop area at our centre and we were thrilled with their prompt response from Bonnie Wilson the Activities advisor," she said.
Bunnings donated a large aviary to help keep the chickens safe and they also donated their time to construct it.
"Lydia and Lady are also active participants in the Goulburn community taking part in the Goulburn Show in 2018 and 2019, taking home ribbons in the egg produce section and they were also star attractions in the animal nursery this year," Ms Lamarra said.
SDN Lady McKell is a 73-place centre providing high-quality and early childhood education and child care for children from birth to school age in Goulburn. It has a rich history and a strong connection with the Goulburn community.
"Generations of families have attended our centre as we they have been providing quality care since 1954. SDN Children's Services is a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing quality services for children and families for more than 110 years," Ms Lamarra said.
