Self-christened after another colourful character, albeit of 1800s Goulburn, Jean Tebay liked to dress the part whenever she was in the neighbourhood.
If you ran into her in the street, chances were she'd tell you a horse story or about her idea to lionise the animal's role in the country's history and create another local tourist attraction, or share a few stanzas of Australian poetry.
Vale, Miss Tebay, who died aged 82 on March 31, just weeks after a fall.
