Some 15 students from Mulwaree High School will be performing four times on the Friday.
Mulwaree High School teacher Amber Duhigg said the dance is a contemporary one based on the novel 1984.
"It is about being ruled under dictatorship and how to to be an individual and to gain freedom," Ms Duhigg said.
"They have been practising for 10 weeks."
Dance festival coordinator Chris Richards said the festival "presents an original, entertaining and professional event, which provides a positive and memorable experience for both teachers, students and the community".
"Over 850 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 will take part in this year's festival which provides an opportunity for students to work towards a quality performance in a professional venue.
"The Festival showcases these students in six diverse performance program events throughout the week.
"Each performance reveals the determination of students and teachers to explore the art of dance and to achieve performances of the highest quality.
"The dance items are based on strong themes, with students displaying a compelling idea utilising a range of music styles and movements that will feature many memorable moments."
Mulwaree High School is one of 27 schools performing at the festival.
