Two men will appear in court charged following a Strike Force Raptor investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms across NSW. In June 2018, officers from Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor began an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms across the state.
Following extensive inquiries, Strike Force Raptor executed five search warrants at homes at Bundanoon, Camden South, Dee Why, Mt Annan and Merriwa on July 3.
During the search of the Bundanoon property, police seized nine firearms, ammunition, knives, a 5kg silver bar, MDMA, a mountain bike, and a surfboard. During the search of the Mt Annan property, officers seized 18 firearms, six sets of knuckle dusters, two batons, 15kg of silver bullion bars, and $70,000 cash.
Items including documentation, electronic equipment, cash, prohibited drugs and prescription drugs were also seized during the search warrants.
A 33-year-old man was arrested at the property in Bundanoon and taken to Moss Vale Police Station, where he was charged with 23 offences including supply prohibited drug indictable quantity, possess unauthorised firearm, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, and handle/use firearm under the influence of alcohol/drug.
The Dee Why man was refused bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court on July 4.
A 65-year-old man was arrested at the Mt Annan home and taken to Narellan Police Station, where he was charged with 16 offences including give firearm to other if knows/believes under influence, give pistol to person not authorised by licence, handle/use firearm under the influence of alcohol/drug, and possess unauthorised pistol.
