A Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) spokesman confirmed a XL-2 Liberty aircraft, registered in Camden, with the number VHXLK, crashed 3.5 nautical miles north-east of Braidwood on August 6 around 11am.
It is believed the plane took off from Camden last night and landed in Moruya on Monday evening. The plane then took off from Moruya before crashing on Tuesday morning.
The NSW Ambulance spokesman said the pilot was reported deceased and was the only person aboard when the small two-seater aircraft crashed.
