12.45: Fire and Rescue NSW says more than 300 weapons are being removed from a home in North Cooma. A spokesman said the weapons were of an older type. Some were covered in mould and had been there for perhaps 20 years.

Noon: Police are conducting an investigation in relation to a potential breach of the firearms Act.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said officers from Fire and Rescue NSW were attending for occupational health and safety.
11.44am: Emergency crews say a large number of firearms have been found at a residential home at Cooma on September 3.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said a NSW Police and Hazmat operation was underway at a residential property at North Cooma.
"They will be here for some time," the spokesman said.

"We are not sure of the number, we are still bringing them out."
"There's a large number."
He said there was one elderly resident at the house at the time of the operation.
