The Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction Angus Taylor was not in his office when Adrienne Carpenter set off on her walk on Monday to highlight what she saw as the need for action on climate change.

The 77-year-old Collector district resident and self described "child of the earth" is trekking 100km to Canberra with trusty four-year-old moodle dog, Phoebe, to draw attention to the cause.
It comes just two weeks after she completed a 70km walk from Collector to Canberra to raise awarenesss about press freedom and climate change.
"I'm doing it again because no one knew I was there last time," Miss Carpenter said.
Having completed that exercise over three days, and more importantly, survived, Miss Carpenter has decided to take four days to complete the current walk.
She'll be taking nothing but basic food and water supplies and is doing the trek without sponsorship. This time there will be more media attention.
Miss Carpenter also attended the Climate Action rally in Goulburn on Friday, September 21, involving school students.
"We must admire the children who are demanding that we all start caring for our beautiful planet so that it will be a fit place for them, their children and for the next seven generations," she said.
"They put our politicians to shame. The time has come to put aside our differences and realise that we are all children of this planet and we must unite to protect her - all our lives depend on it.
"Gloria Steinem wrote 'one day an army of grey-haired women may quietly take over the Earth'.
"I think that time is now, as the grey-haired men who are in charge now are doing nothing to ameliorate the damage that has been done."
Miss Carpenter says there's a growing movement for 'stronger action' on climate change impacts and that 'the politicians are in for a shock."
Mr Taylor has defended current policies, saying Australia is doing more than many countries and is exceeding its emission reduction targets. But Miss Carpenter argues the targets are too low and says everyone has the ability to do something to address the problem.
She cited 16-year-old environmental activisty Greta Thunberg and Sir David Attenborough as her heroes.
She will complete her walk at Canberra's Parliament House at 11am on Thursday.
