Running for the 10th year, the highlight of this year's event will be the creation of a picture using coins.
"A mural of a Rescue Helicopter, designed by local artist Sally O'Neill, is the design chosen for this year," Karon Jones, publicity officer, BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc said.
To date, the BDCU Goulburn Hospital fundraising committee has raised $400,000 for items for patient care.
"All money raised goes toward the purchase of equipment for our Goulburn Hospital. We are currently fundraising toward the purchase of a bariatric lifter to increase comfort for patients," she said.
"We are very grateful for the continued support from the community and with your donations look forward to another successful day of fundraising."
The event is organised by the BDCU Goulburn Hospital fundraising committee and will be held on November 2 from 9:30am-1pm.
Members of the public can see the mural being created at Belmore Park.
"The annual Mile of Pennies event is an opportunity for the community to have a little fun whilst donating to purchase vital equipment for the base hospital," Prue Martin, member of the BDCU Goulburn Hospital fundraising committee said.
"This year's artwork will be filled with the hard-earned coins collected by the community. Our volunteers will be located around Goulburn ready to take your pennies and even notes to create the emergency helicopter artwork at Belmore Park."
Nerida Cullen, BDCU Goulburn Fundraising Inc president, looks forward to the event every year.
"It is amazing to think we are in our 10th year of Mile of Pennies to raise money for the hospital equipment. The committee looks forward to this event every year, when the Goulburn community throws coins into our buckets," she said.
"We never know how much we will raise. It all depends on the generosity of our community. So, it is always a delightful surprise.
"Over the 10 years, this event has raised close to, or even more than $45,000 for the hospital.
"We continue to be motivated to raise funds for the betterment of patient care at Goulburn Base Hospital."
