They were accompanied by teachers Steven Dunn and Jessica Bromfield from Mulwaree High School on the 19-day trip.
The group travelled to Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco and San Diego.
"It was an educational and cultural trip for students. They had a wonderful time and made good friends," Steven Dunn said.
"They enjoyed activities planned for them, [such as] basketball, ice hockey, and interacting with the American students.
"They lived with American families and went to the local school."
The students visited Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott's Berry Farm, Golden Gate Bridge and the Alcatraz prison during their trip, and went on a tour of Hollywood.
More than 2000 Years 9 to 12 students take part in it each year.
