The Goulburn branch of the Autism Community Network was established late last year.
CEO Steve Drakoulis said the peer to peer support network harnessed the "wisdom of the crowd".
He said the sharing of local knowledge and lived experience was especially important for people in regional communities.
"When a parent is talking about a difficult or challenging experience it is important for the others to have gone through it," he said.
"To find that you are not doing it alone and that others understand you makes a difference.
"It's so important to connect and find others who understand you."

Currently 26 families are registered in Goulburn with the Autism Community Network.
Mr Drakoulis said he wanted to expand the Goulburn network of the not-for-profit organisation.
"When it comes to regional areas people will travel to escape the isolation. Isolation is the biggest thing people experience."
Mr Drakouis said he would put on a presentation of good ideas and things he has learnt over the years as a father with an autistic child.
The community talk will be held on Monday, February 17 at the Goulburn Workers Club from 10am to 12pm. Entry is free.
The network meets on the first and third Monday of the month at Goulburn Workers Club from 10am-12pm.
