The task, with the community's help, is to send a personalised video message to all 67 residents in lockdown at the aged care facilities during the coronavirus pandemic.
Crookwell and Taralga Aged Care CEO Jo Boyce said it would make their day.
Everyone including children and animals are invited to get involved by recording a simple but upbeat message that says hello, introduces yourself and explains what your life looks like at the moment.
"We want to show the residents that they matter during this time," Upper Lachlan Community Connect organiser Gavin Douglas said.
The residents' first names are listed on the project's web page where there is also a step-by-step guide on how to make and upload the video. Or if you need a hand, contact Gavin Douglas on 0423 245 470 or ulcc@outlook.com.au.
Upper Lachlan Community Connect will send the videos to the aged care staff who will share them with the residents.
Meanwhile, Upper Lachlan Community Care has also been distributing packs containing pens, pencils, sharpeners and rulers along with mental health flyers, cyber safety sheets and other health information to vulnerable families in the shire.
So far, 28 packs have been handed over to schools to give to families in Crookwell, Taralga, Breadalbane, Collector, Dalton, Gunning and Binda.
The volunteer organisation has also been getting non-perishable food, toilet paper and nappies to people in need across the shire and is still receiving donations at St Bartholomew Anglican Church in Crookwell and Gunning Community Care.
