On driveways all over the region, families came out to recognise and thank the servicemen and women who have fought for Australia.
Ang Nwokoye said she and her family had risen early to remember her grandfathers.
"Our light up the driveway dawn service," she said, "for our pop, who was in the light horse (John Handley-Jack), and our grandfather who fought in the war (Ronald Morton)."
