Goulburn Police have attended three motor vehicle accidents in less than 24 hours. With wet and potentially icy conditions forecast in the next 24 hours, drivers are being urged to be on your A-game whilst travelling on our roads.

At 6.54am on Wednesday, April 29 police were called to Boxers Creek Road, Boxers Creek to a single vehicle accident where a white Holden Rodeo driven by a 17 year-old male provisional driver left the roadway and crashed into a number of trees. Emergency services attended the scene and conveyed him to hospital where he was treated for a broken ankle and other minor injuries.
At 10.50am a vehicle lost control on Range Road, Baw Baw, in wet and slippery conditions and left the roadway near the Rossiville Bridge. The occupants in their 60s were uninjured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
At 3.30am today, Thursday, April 30, a B-double heavy vehicle was travelling north on the Hume Highway Goulburn, between the two exits to Goulburn. The vehicle lost control in the wet conditions and left the roadway and jack knifed across the north bound lanes. The driver was uninjured however traffic was diverted through Goulburn for a short time whilst the vehicle was recovered.
With the expected winter blast over the next 24 hours, Inspector Hinton, officer in charge of Goulburn said, "Drive to the conditions, slow down and take your time. If you can avoid travelling in these expected wet and icy conditions, don't".
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned of widespread rain, with embedded thunderstorms forecast to develop across the west and south of the state and move towards the east on Thursday.
This system may bring heavy falls to parts of the central and southern ranges and adjacent western slopes, which could cause renewed river rises and impact driving conditions (including water ponding over roads and poor visibility).
