Now is the best time in decades to gallop (not canter) to a clean economy.
People need work, low interest loans are available to business and Government, regional Australia and the young will be big winners and Australia can secure cheap electricity quickly.
Achieving this depends on the willingness of Federal and State Governments to listen to our science and economic experts like the medical experts more recently. We'll see.
There are local things I want too: the laughter of children in playgrounds, coffee in cafes, live theatre, the library and cinema.
The shut down has shown what is crucial to wellbeing: being part of a community makes us feel good.
The Goulburn Post has captured our regional life for 150 years!
I want our local voice to return: the journalists, letters and opinion pieces, Mayoral column, photos of fundraisers, festivals, school and sporting heroes.
I don't want the only option to be cheap online substitutes. I'm weary of zoom, webinars and social media, helpful as they are in the crisis. I want some of the real thing!
Council is key to saving the Goulburn Post.
It must advertise as before and put this spend in the new budget cycle. State and Federal MPs should do the same.
Supporting the Goulburn Post will play a crucial role as we emerge socially and economically from the impacts of the pandemic.
It is our regional voice and worth every cent.
