TfNSW announced last week that the regulatory contract will be set up between themselves and the EPA by May 25.
TfNSW also acknowledged community consultation should have begun earlier, saying it is working hard to ensure the community is fully engaged in the management of the contamination.
The announcement came as part of an information session livestreamed by TfNSW last Thursday, May 14, and watched by 20 viewers.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson said that the event addressed a number of questions from the community, including: timeframes for receiving testing results from private properties and interpretation of results; management methods for the contaminated material in the rail corridor; consultation over the contaminated land; and the process for having blood tests.
"By the end of July, Transport for NSW will have developed an interim site management plan to ensure risks to health and environment are minimised while the investigations and longer term plans are developed," said the spokesperson.
"The community will be kept regularly updated through project updates and Livestream events."
