"Having a doctor at headspace ensures more young people can receive a holistic approach to their health and wellbeing," said Gail.
Dr Alex says he is passionate about helping young people.
"Young people have their own sets of challenges that they face. Even if they want to reach out, it's hard to know who to reach out to," he said.
"Some things are important for a GP to pick up during this time of life, whether it's a mental illness or another medical condition, or just a chat about health and wellbeing in general, because they can have a lifelong effect.
"At headspace there's the added support of so many other clinicians and youth workers too, so it's a much more welcoming environment and not as daunting as a conventional GP clinic."
The service is free for young people aged 12-25 if a Medicare card is provided (if a young person does not have one, headspace can help organise one.)
Dr Alex is taking appointments for Thursdays from 3-7pm at 13-17 Verner Street, Goulburn for all young people aged 12-25 and his hours will increase as demand increases.
Video conferencing and telephone appointments are also available during COVID-19 restrictions.
- GP appointments can be made by calling 02 4824 4944.
