Well that's what nursing and midwifery student at Charles Darwin University Bronwyn Chenery has been doing.
The 31-year-old said she started her degree this year to begin achieving her goal of working with women and babies.
"To be able to be a part of people's lives through the good and bad and when they start a family is such a privilege," Ms Chenery said.
"My favourite quote is 'and what could be more beautiful than bringing new life into the world'.
"That inspires me to keep going."
Her life was made a whole lot easier when she became one of six students from the Hume electorate to receive a scholarship from the government.
"The funds helped me with the cost of textbooks and with the cost associated with attending clinical teaching blocks and placements that are required as part of my degree," Ms Chenery said.
"It's been a huge help to take some of the financial burden off studying online via distance education."
Member for Hume Angus Taylor congratulated the six students who benefited from up to $18,000 each towards the cost of their studies at higher education providers including Macquarie University, University of Sydney, Charles Darwin University and Charles Sturt University
"Our Government is ensuring that every Australian, no matter where they live, has access to a world class education," Mr Taylor said.
"It's only fair if you live in regional area, you get the same opportunities to access higher education as those living in cities, and this financial support will help our students to do so.
"The scholarships will help ease some of the financial burden at what has been a very difficult time for many and will include $500 for the students to undertake an internship to ensure they are job-ready."
Scholarships are offered throughout 2020. For more information and to apply, visit https://www.qtac.edu.au/scholarships
