Official Vietnam Veteran's Day commemorations, held annually on August 18, were cancelled due to COVID-19 precautions this year. This didn't stop a small group of socially distanced people from paying their respects at Belmore Park.

Vietnam Veteran's Day, formerly known as Long Tan Day, marks the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan and remembers those who served in the Vietnam War.
About 20 people turned up for the unofficial gathering on Tuesday morning.
Goulburn RSL Sub-branch secretary Malcolm Ritchie said the gathering was an opportunity for people to lay wreaths and pay their respects.
Mr Ritchie said Vietnam Veteran's Day commemorated people who had served in Vietnam and all wars.
In particular he said the event was to pay tribute to those who had "made the ultimate sacrifice".
The veteran said he was impressed so many people had turned up on their own accord.
"People are remembering," he said.
"It's important we don't forget."
