Licensed snake handler Byron Stein feels that it is too early for snakes to be around.
"Heavy rainfall received in Goulburn last month has forced snakes to come out of their burrows. The snakes are certainly around at the moment and I expect to see more such sightings," he said.

"It's a combination of heavy rainfall and now a warm weather period is certainly going to result in more sightings.
Mr Stein has already received three calls so far in Goulburn. Two out of these were for brown snakes and one for tiger snake.
A licensed handler for 15 years, Mr Stein said that Goulburn town mostly seen Eastern brown snakes and Tiger snakes. There have been rare instances where he has seen a Red-bellied black snake.
"We have received around six calls last week and again six this week. The snakes activity is expected to start in full swing as weather gets warmer," he said.
As we head to summer, Mr Stein has asked people to be more vigilant particularly along rivers and streams because that's where snakes hunt for preys.
He asks people to try to stay calm, not to approach a snake when they see one and call a licensed snake handlers or ring WIRES on 1300 094 737.
"When you see a snake, keep your distance and keep an eye on it's movement. Get that help as quickly as you can. Once you lose sight of them, it's impossible to find them," he said.
People can learn how to do a pressure immobilisation bandage technique.
"Don't move your limb and call an ambulance, it will help save your life," he said.
